You’ve build your website or store now and you are now ready to make sales. Awesome! To be more precise though, you really want people to buy products from you every day, right? Of course. Flash in the pan sales is not what you’re after. So how to get people to buy your product every day is the question?
To master the skill of knowing how to get people to buy your product every day it’s important to first learn the 3 fundamentals that every successful dropshipper knows and does.
3 Secrets to know how to get people to buy your product every day!
Step 1: Know your ideal target audience groups
Let me share a quick analogy on this topic; If yo put a piece of cooked chicken breast in front of 10 hungry pit bull dogs they will most likely devour that meat up in a split second!
The 10 pit bulls are your ideal target buyers and the chicken meat is your product.
The question is, how do you know on how to get people to buy your product that you advertise in front of them?
That’s where research comes in. I know, doesn’t sound fun, but it can be!
Researching your target audiences is just like getting to know new people in your life. So if you like meeting and getting to know people you’ll love marketing.
To know if your target audience (the pit bull) is hungry to buy something today you can look for trends and proof or evidence that there is a consistent desire or demand for the product (the chicken meat) that you are thinking about advertising in front of that audience.

The answer to that question is “testing”. Even the best marketers on the planet invest time and money testing their ads. Why should you believe otherwise?
You’ll never know 100% until you try to put the product in front of the person. If your target audience buyer has already convinced him/herself to put the right product, at the right price in front of to dramatically increase your conversions it’s vital that you make certain you are driving the right, targeted traffic to your store from the right sources in the first place! I can’t stress this point enough.
It’s the reason I put this conversion strategy first. The best thing you can do first to get more people to buy from you every day is to make sure you look at the “type”, “source” and “quality” of the traffic you are sending to your website from various sources.
While this article is not about teaching you about all the various traffic source, while very plentiful, I will tell you the first place I start marketing my e-commerce drop-ship stores is on Google Shopping through Google’s Adwords system.
Once I get that source to convert profitably for me I consider branching out as a part of my scaling strategy. I might consider Facebook, Pinterest, and so forth.
The question to ask yourself when launching your ad campaigns to improve conversions on your store is:
“How confident am I that the campaign I just launched is serving my ads to the precise audience that cares most about my products and is in the market to buy them right now?”
Make sense right?
If you present an effective ad in front of someone in the market right now to buy your product chances are they will buy it.
For example if you just launched a text ad campaign on Google Adwords, how confident are you that the keywords you’ve added are not just some list of keywords you’ve added or that you added to the campaigns because Google told you, but rather you added the keywords consciously.
Are you convinced the keywords you’re using have what we call “buyer intent”. The keywords, the ads, targeting, and landing pages they are arriving at after they click your ad should all be highly relevant for you to have the best conversions.
There’s a lot more that goes into building a high converting Google Adwords campaign, but suffice it to say, if you take the time to look at your campaign data to segment, optimize or fine tune your campaigns you can immediately see a huge spike in consistent sales.
Step 2: Have a simple 1 to 3 step checkout process
This second conversion strategy is fairly straight forward, but you’d be surprised how many complicated checkout processes I’ve seen on other people’s websites that know how to get people to buy your products. You’ve probably even visited websites where it requires you to go through 5 sometimes 6 or 7 steps to give your frigging money to the company to get your product!
So with this step you should take the time to condense the entire checkout process from the time they add the product to the cart to the point of successfully payment.
Here is how the checkout process should look:
- Customer adds the product to the cart and they are immediately taken to the checkout page. There are exceptions to this strategy but if you are selling products where the customer usually only buys one major product then this works great.
- Customer fills out their billing information including address and credit card info and clicks on the button to successfully pay you. This means you have a one-page order checkout that is secure. This can easily be done on Shopify and WordPress platforms.
- The customer is taken to successful order thank you page where their order is summarized and expections presented.
If you have more than those 3 steps it would be good to take a serious look at your checkout process to make it as easy and simple as possible to allow your customers to order their product and get you paid.
Step 3: Don’t Be Sneaky
This is the last conversion strategy that I’ll share with you today, this strategy will be the last step to know how to get people to buy your products. This involves making your pricing and policies as transparent as possible so there are no surprises when buying online. Nobody likes a sneaky salesman! So be clear about everything, especially pricing, shipping costs & fees, etc.
Just think about how you feel when you go to buy something and come to find out the shocking surprise that the shipping/taxes are a 1/4th of the entire order cost. See ya! There goes that buyer forever.
Just recently I went online to order some bulk foods for $30 and went to checkout the shipping costs were $28! Nowhere on their site did it tell me upfront that the shipping costs were going to be so high. Crazy. They lost my business now forever. I’ll never go back to them again. They wasted my time and disappointed me in a great way.
That particular company’s conversions would be much higher if they either worked out the arrangements to advertise free shipping on their site in the header or elsewhere that can be clearly seen on their online store, or to tell people upfront what to expect before checking out. Pretty simple to understand.
There are other important things you can make known among your audience as well such as your shipping and refunds policy. The way you position yourself with your shipping and refunds can help differentiate you among your competition.
For example you can clearly present an image at the top of your website header that tells people what to expect in shipping times. I could say “Your Product Will Arrive in 5 Days or Less”. If you can guarantee that by working out the arrangements with your suppliers, do it.
Another example regarding transparency of refunds you can clearly present the verbiage that says something along the lines of “We accept refunds, no hassle”.
The bottom line with this strategy is to understand and implement ways to create as much transparency as possible upon major sticking points that people have. And most people will have sticking points based upon price, shipping and refunds.
So do your best to clearly present expectations all throughout your website and watch how your traffic from there starts to convert better and more consistently.
